forward is calling.

why 'forward is calling'?

the name of this site comes from a lyric in the title number in the musical bare (hartmere and intrabartolo). 'now i stand at a crossroads and stare at a question. if prayer were the answer, i'd fall on my knees. but forward is calling and i cannot stay here.' bare tells the 'romeo and juliet'-style story of peter and jason, two roommates in a catholic boarding school who have fallen in love with eachother and are struggling with their identities because of this. while jason is terrified of coming out to himself, his family and peers, peter cannot bring himself to tell his mother, yet wants the world to know about his love for jason. he dreams of a future where the two can live happily ever after together. it is a rather hopeful lyric, but sadly turns grim as jason has poisoned himself and dies at the end of this song. yet peter is still hopeful.

the lyric has struck me pretty hard. it is very hopeful and i feel like it represents where i am at the moment... a crossroads with nothing but a hope of moving forward. as a musician, my future is uncertain. despite this, it is always calling me to move forward and never look back. the top graphic is also symbolic of this constant push forward. the glooming bethlehem steel desperately trying to stay in its time, and the lehigh river constantly being pushed along.
also of note is the triquetra, formerly on my banner, is a symbol of hope, as it often represents past, present and future and their constant relationship to eachother. although i am not of celtic origin, i have displayed this symbol on my person in some form or another at all times for over seven years now. it is an incredibly simple knot but nonetheless a beautiful one.
of small note, while i generally do not use capitalization, i am a spelling and grammar enthusiast. this site is also best viewed in google chrome, but i'm sure it's shiny in firefox and that nasty microsoft browser thing.

it's only me.

not in the mood to ramble shamelessly about myself... if you wish to stalk me, i will be attempting to keep my blog up and current with rambling nonsense.
but here's the obligatory resume-ish nonsense.
